If you've been to the grocery store this holiday season, you've undoubtedly seen display after display of gingerbread house kits and tantalizing candy decorations.  Sadly, I couldn't find a vegan or gluten free option in the bunch that would be safe for my children who have food allergies.  And you can imagine how well it would go over to tell a toddler, while in the midst of decorating an edible gingerbread masterpiece, that said masterpiece is not for actual consumption.  Making a gingerbread house and frosting from scratch is far too much work for me at the moment, so thank goodness for the Google-search gods who quickly led me to Sensitive Sweets, a California bakery that specializes in allergy-friendly sweets, and who just so happens to offer a gingerbread house kit that is available for shipping.
